As you read and explore Unafraid & Unemployed, I encourage you to seek professional help. As much as I feel like an expert on these matters, I am not a medical doctor, therapist, accountant or state government official. Please always take care of yourself and find the appropriate help.

Hi, I’m Rebecca. The founder of Unemployed & Unafraid. My story has come to this point, for (what I like to believe) is a good reason, to help you navigate this weird time in your life.

During my unemployment periods, I’ve learned a few things. From state unemployment filings, to how to grocery shop on a budget and how to meditate to keep the panic attacks away. Unafraid & Unemployed came to life last summer when I was…yep-unemployed. I laid on my sofa and cried for 30 minutes wondering “Why am I here AGAIN?”

After those 30 minutes-it hit me “either I can cry about this, or do something useful.’

So I hopped off the sofa, sat down with my computer, and got to writing.

I’ve added these stories, resources, pointers, and tips for you to utilize, laugh with (or at) and take into consideration and find inspiration. My main goal of Unafraid & Unemployed is to de-stigmatize being unemployed and encourage you to find beauty during this time.

Besides these resources and tips, I also offer online sessions for coaching, yoga sessions and general questions/conversations about being Unemployed.

Unemployed & Unafraid is designed to show that being unemployed isn’t a bad thing, or makes you a bad person. Unafraid & Unemployed is here to help guide, calm and remind you- that you are worth more than a job.

You’re not alone in this.

With lots of love and understanding,

Rebecca
